Build
your own spectacular acoustic guitar

30 minute interview with Diane Vykowski on Scottsdale Artbeat
(This may a few minutes to upload, but is well worth the wait.)
our first two week class held in August 2009
(this type of
class is just $1,000 extra for 6 more days which allow you to build your guitar
completely from scratch)

-- the

Adventure
Vacation that
actually
pays for
itself!
"I've always thought it would be fun to make my
own guitar."'
So you've always wanted to build your own guitar, but lacked the tools, skills
or courage. Well there's no time like the present. In just seven days you'll learn
about the entire process of hand crafting an acoustic guitar, from choosing wood
to the fine art of inlay. Norman Haight will demonstrate every aspect of the
luthier's craft including side bending, tap tuning, neck carving and waiting for
glue to dry. Choose from six body styles, two types of top tone wood and two
types of back and sides wood; and design your own head stock. You'll stay at
Rosewood Weyr, enjoy evenings filled with guitar related activities, 3 meals a
day, and go home with an unforgettable experience and your prized possession,
the guitar you built with your own hands. What could be better?
The only class spaces we have left this
year are in the October 10--17th class.
Our Itinerary brochure outlines each day's activities:

What our graduates say about their experience:
Pre-Week - Do it all!
It takes a luthier about 80 hours to make a basic acoustic guitar.
Since we have about 40 hours with you when you come to our 1 Week - 1 Guitar
seminar, we do about half the job before you arrive. If you want to do everything
from bending your own sides to inlaying your own rosette, you can come the week
before your camp and do the whole job yourself. The additional cost for this is $1,000
including room & board.
